wpCJ needs the Zend Engine with the Zend Optimizer freeware library, version 2.0.0+, installed in your server in order to run.

Please, refer to the following page for more information about it:

http://www.zend.com/en/support/knowledgebase.php?kbid=179&view_only=1

The Zend Optimizer can be downloaded from: http://www.zend.com/store/products/zend-optimizer.php

The following hosting providers have Zend Optimizer pre-installed:

  • Hostgator
  • Bluehost

The following hosting providers need manual installation of the library:

  • 1and1 (*)
    • 1and1 has an unorthodox way to install and implement the use of Zend Optimizer.In order to make it work in 1and1, you will need to upload a copy of the proper ZendOptimizer.so file to your webroot folder (/USER/homepages/xx/xxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/ZendOptimizer.so) and create a php.ini file inside that folder. This file must be copied also to wp-admin folder. Very Important!, the php.ini must contain these lines:

      zend_optimizer.optimization_level=15
      zend_extension=/USER/homepages/xx/xxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/ZendOptimizer.so

The following hosting providers does not provide the library nor allow you to install it, so wpCJ does not work on them:

  • None so far.
